Practical. African. Rights-Based.

We believe civil society should have the knowledge, tools and technical capacity required to safely leverage digital technologies in pursuit of their respective mandates.

Our work is built around four interconnected areas: Cybersecurity Resilience, Inclusive AI, Digital Rights and Internet Freedom.

A Digital Africa Where Everyone Can Participate Safely

A safe, inclusive and rights-respecting digital Africa where civil society and communities can participate, innovate and thrive.

What We Do

To strengthen the digital resilience and technological capacity of civil society organisations in the East and Horn of Africa while advancing inclusive AI, digital rights and internet freedom.

What Guides Us

Security

We promote responsible and practical approaches to protecting people, organisations, information and digital systems.

Inclusion

We believe everyone should have meaningful opportunities to participate in digital transformation.

Human Rights

We place fundamental rights and freedoms at the centre of our digital work.

Collaboration

We believe complex digital challenges require partnerships and shared knowledge.

Innovation

We embrace technology and new approaches while remaining attentive to their risks and consequences.

African Context

We prioritise approaches that recognise Africa’s diverse linguistic, cultural, social and technological realities.

We Understand Civil Society

We Focus on Practical Solutions

We don’t stop at awareness. We help organisations identify problems and take practical steps to address them.

We Connect Security and Rights

Digital security, digital rights and internet freedom are interconnected. Our work brings these issues together.

We Promote African Participation

We believe African communities should have a meaningful role in shaping emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence.

We Build Resilience

Our goal is not simply to respond to today’s threats. We help organisations develop the capacity to better withstand tomorrow’s challenges.

Let’s Build a More Resilient Digital Africa.
